24Chaco Culture NHP Otherwish known as Chaco Canyon. This was once the spiritual center of the Chacos - a vast area of scrub desert covering western New Mexico and into eastern Arizona. These earliest ruins date back to around 850 AD. The Chacos left their expansive development around 1200 AD.
25Great Kiva Chaco Culture NHP. The Great Kiva is a huge circular spiritual meeting place that was originally covered. The two entrances are aligned directly north-south and these points are exactly south of another complex about 20 km. away.
